Dr. Lize Stefanac is a board-certified family medicine physician with UP Medical Group – Family Medicine in Marquette, Michigan. She delivers complete care for patients of all ages across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her practice covers a wide range of needs, including prenatal care and non-operative obstetrics.
She earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit in 2020. Following medical school, she completed her family medicine residency at Via Christi Family Medicine in Wichita, Kansas. During her residency, she led the Orientation Committee and served on the Point-of-Care Ultrasound Committee. Before starting her medical training, she graduated from Hope College in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and French.
Dr. Stefanac cares deeply about community health and gives much of her time to volunteer work. She has treated underserved communities through Street Medicine Detroit and the ICT Street Team in Wichita. She also helped victims of human trafficking at Detroit’s Covenant Community Care. Since moving to Marquette, she mentors youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters, visits seniors with Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly, and teaches salsa dancing with Baila UP.
She speaks English, French, and Afrikaans fluently. To ensure she can handle any medical situation, she holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, and Advanced Wilderness Life Support.
When she is away from the clinic, Dr. Stefanac stays highly active. She loves rock climbing, cycling, backpacking, cooking, and salsa dancing.
